Autocab, one of the world's leading taxi booking and dispatch software providers, has announced that Frans Hiemstra will join the company as the new CEO.
Having served as Regional GM for the Middle East and Africa at Uber, Hiemstra brings a decade of experience of working across international markets in taxi, fleet and private hire vehicle businesses.
He takes over from Safa Alkateb, who has led the business since 2012 and departs in June to explore a new challenge.
Autocab works with independent taxi and private hire businesses across the globe, helping them scale and grow by unlocking new revenue opportunities.
The leadership change marks an opportunity to build on this success, with continued investment into its world-class technology to help more operators reach new customers.
Frans Hiemstra, CEO, Autocab, said: “Autocab is a brilliant independent British business, and I’m delighted to now be part of that team.
"Over the last 10 years, I’ve had the chance to work across a number of markets and business models in the taxi, fleet and private hire sectors, and have seen first-hand how transformative Autocab’s technology can be.
"I couldn’t be more excited to work with the team to help drive Autocab’s continued growth. There’s a strong opportunity ahead to invest in Autocab as we work to help even more independent taxi companies across the world scale and grow.”
Safa Alkateb, outgoing CEO, Autocab, said: “After a wonderful 14 years at Autocab, I have decided to leave at the end of June to explore a new challenge.
"Autocab has grown from an ambitious young business into a company that genuinely shapes our industry.
"I’m delighted to see Frans stepping into the role of CEO and wish him every success as he takes Autocab forward.
"With a strong foundation in place, I know the business will continue to thrive, maintaining the continuity and stability we’ve worked so hard to build.”
