WOMAN HOSPITALISED AFTER GLASGOW PHV ROOF CUT OFF IN SERIOUS COLLISION

A woman was rushed to the hospital on Saturday afternoon, 11 April, following a violent two-vehicle crash at a busy Glasgow junction.

Emergency crews, including firefighters and police, raced to the scene at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Great Western Road around 1:55 pm.

The impact was so severe that rescue teams had to cut the roof off a private hire vehicle to reach those inside.

One witness described the scene as a "horrendous smash affecting both sides of the road," adding: "They're trying to cut a passenger out the back seat of a taxi by the looks of it.

"Hope everyone involved is okay."

Police Scotland confirmed that the road has since been cleared and reopened to traffic.

A spokesperson stated: “Emergency services attended and a woman was taken to hospital for treatment.”

Following an initial investigation at the scene, officers issued a fixed penalty notice to a man for a road traffic offence.
