Uber USA website states: "We know the price of gas is top of mind for many rideshare and delivery drivers across the country right now. To help mitigate the exceptional and rapid price increases that drivers have been seeing at the pump, we are significantly expanding the fuel discounts and offers available to Uber drivers and couriers in the U.S. through May 26, 2026.
"We are also increasing incentives and promos for drivers and couriers to help ensure that their earnings keep pace with higher gas prices.”
Drivers and couriers can now get up to $1 off per gallon of gas with the Upside program, up from a maximum 25 cents per gallon, based on Uber Pro or Uber Eats Pro tier. In addition, drivers and couriers using Shell can get up to 21¢ off per gallon of gas with that station’s Fuel Rewards programme, up from max 7 cents per gallon.
Uber drivers and couriers can also get an additional 5% cash back on top of existing rates at any gas station in the country with an Uber Pro Card.
Altogether, top-tier drivers and couriers can save up to $1.44 per gallon using these combined offers and discounts, according to Uber.

One UK Uber driver told PHTM: "I just want my voice to be heard. Fuel prices keep rising and drivers are the ones carrying all the cost. Every day it’s getting harder to keep going while everything around us is going up.
"Uber is helping drivers in other countries with fuel support, but here in the UK we are left to struggle while they continue making profits.
"We are paying for fuel, insurance, maintenance and licensing, and nothing is getting cheaper. On top of that, some drivers are still taking £1 per mile jobs just to get by, which is dragging everything down for the rest of us.
"It’s frustrating, it’s exhausting, and it feels like drivers are being ignored.
"Even with unions like ADCU and GMB involved, drivers on the ground are still struggling with the most basic issue of rising fuel costs.
"All I’m asking is please raise this issue and make sure our voices are heard. We need someone to speak up for us and bring attention to what drivers are going through right now."
