
Police swarmed a PHV in Oswaldtwistle on Wednesday afternoon, 8 April, after reports surfaced of men allegedly carrying a weapon on Warner Street in Accrington.
Officers responded to the call around 5pm regarding a group of "suspicious males" who fled the scene in a cab, which was intercepted by response teams shortly after on New Lane.
During the stop, three individuals were detained and searched.
A 21-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs after police seized a haul of illegal vapes. Authorities believe these devices contained substances such as THC or spice.
The situation escalated during the arrest when the suspect allegedly kicked a police officer.
Hyndburn Police confirmed the man was arrested for "assaulting an emergency worker" in addition to the drug charges.
In an official statement, the department noted: "The 21-year-old remains in custody, whilst our investigation continues."
