TAKE ME is delighted to announce its latest franchise partnership with Dial A Cab, expanding its rapidly growing network into Rugby, Warwickshire.
By joining forces, Dial A Cab will leverage TAKE ME’s extensive, scaled resources to inject new technology, drivers, and corporate accounts into the local area.
A Journey of Resilience:
Founded in July 2011 by industry veteran Mark, Dial A Cab began with just two vehicles. With 35 yearsof taxi experience under his belt, Mark’s hard work and dedication saw the fleet grow into a thriving,multi-vehicle operation.
Then, Covid-19 hit. Like many in the transport sector, bookings plummeted. Mark fought tirelessly to keep the business afloat, supported only by a trickle of remaining taxi work and income from a parallel property business.
As the pandemic eased, Mark knew he needed a fresh spark to resurrect the fleet. Enter Rosie Linford. Having been made redundant from another local operator during the pandemic, Rosie brought a vibrant, modern mindset to the business. Mark handed her the reins to reinstate Dial A Cab, and she delivered spectacularly.
However, the post-pandemic landscape brought a familiar industry headache: Rosie wastrapped in the daily grind, juggling bookings, dispatch, accounts, and driver shortages all by herself.
The Turning Point:
Over a year ago, Ashley Butcher from TAKE ME reached out to Mark. At a crossroads and looking forguidance, Mark found a glimmer of hope. Ashley maintained regular contact, offering free advice and industry insights.
Recently, Mark and Rosie visited the TAKE ME headquarters in Loughborough to see how the ecosystem supports its rapidly growing network of over 45 companies nationwide.
Seeing the sheerscale of operational support available, the duo knew they had found their lifeline.
Dial A Cab officially signed a franchise agreement to scale their operations and take the business to the next level.
Navigating an Over-Regulated Market:
A major focus of the new partnership will be driver recruitment, an area Mark notes has become needlessly difficult due to bureaucratic red tape.
"Right now, it feels easier to join the police force than to become a private hire driver," says Mark."Every local council has different regulations and badge requirements. Applicants get frustrated by the lengthy delays and choose other industries.
With TAKE ME’s backing, we can streamline our processes and make it attractive for local drivers to get back on the road."
The Road Ahead:
TAKE ME is already on the ground working with Dial A Cab to boost local bookings, secure corporate accounts, reduce overhead costs, and recruit new drivers to further expand their presence.
Reflecting on the new venture, Mark and Rosie shared a unified vision:"We look forward to the road ahead."
