Four men have been sentenced to a combined 25 years in prison for their roles in a violent underworld feud that saw Edinburgh and Glasgow properties and vehicles targeted with firebombs.
Kieran Abercrombie, Robert Thomson, Kenzie Gardner, and Tyler Ramage carried out the attacks in May 2025 as part of an escalating "gangland war" between rival crime families.
The High Court in Edinburgh heard how the group used encrypted messaging apps to coordinate their strikes, which included torching the Deuce Private Hire taxi office while staff were inside and firebombing luxury cars in a family driveway.
Their campaign was part of a broader conflict involving the Daniel, Lyons, and Richardson gangs, but was cut short by a major police crackdown known as Operation Portaledge.
In a stern sentencing remarks, Judge Lord Mulholland highlighted the extreme danger the men posed to the public. “The background to all of this is that it was part of a gangland war,” he said, noting that the taxi office fire could have easily resulted in a murder charge.
He added: “Gangsterism is never acceptable in a civilised society. The public won’t accept it, law enforcement won’t accept it, and the courts won’t accept it.”
The court learned that the men were being paid for their "nefarious work," which included plotting to attack associates of convicted drug dealer Mark Richardson.
While the defence argued the men were mere tools in a larger conflict, the judge insisted on a heavy price for their actions. “There is a heavy price to pay for those caught doing this criminality, and you are about to pay that price,” Lord Mulholland told the defendants.
The sentencing comes as police continue to investigate international links to the feud, including the recent high-profile assassinations of gang figures in Spain.
