CHAOS IN GRAVESEND AS TAXI IS STUCK AFTER PLOUGHING THROUGH WALLS AND GARDENS

Residents in a Gravesend street were left in disbelief this morning after a taxi veered off the road, tearing through several front gardens and demolishing two walls.

The dramatic collision, which occurred around 10am on January 23, saw the Toyota vehicle come to a rest only after becoming tightly wedged between a residential property and a tree.

Local resident Roger McVeigh, 70, discovered the wreckage while performing morning chores. “I went out to pick up the bin and the bin lorry driver said, you see that? It's just happened,” he recalled.

Surveying the significant structural damage to the neighborhood, he added: “I don't know how he'd done it. He’s gone through two walls.”

According to Mr. McVeigh, the crew of a nearby bin lorry attempted to assist by pulling the car from the debris, though their efforts were ultimately “unsuccessful.”

Kent Police arrived shortly after to secure the area and manage the aftermath of the single-vehicle crash. 

Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the accident or whether any injuries were sustained.
