POLICE PROBE AFTER TAXI PASSENGER REFUSES TO PAY FARE FROM YORK STATION

Police are investigating an alleged theft after a taxi passenger reportedly refused to pay their fare following a late-night journey from York Railway Station.

The incident took place at 11.30pm on June 27 when a cab picked up a customer at the station and drove them to Cornlands Road. Upon arrival at the destination, the passenger left the vehicle without settling the bill.

North Yorkshire Police stated that the sole occupant walked off into a block of communal flats without offering payment.

Officers are now appealing for information from the public to help with their enquiries.

Anyone who can assist is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police online or by calling 101, quoting reference 12260120439. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
