LONDON CITY AIRPORT CONFIRMS COST OF DROP OFF CHARGES FROM TUESDAY 6TH JANUARY 2026

Drop-off charges:

• £8.00 for 0-5 minutes

• then £1 minute for any additional minutes

• maximum stay of 10 minutes

London Black Taxis exemption:

Prior to the charge being introduced on licensed taxis (black cabs), Transport for London (TfL) will conduct its annual public consultation on fares and within that will include a proposal from London City that the drop-off charge is formally included in the meter, meaning London black cab drivers will not bear the cost of the charge.

London City Airport Taxi Rank:

Taxi drivers currently pay £2.00 when using the taxi rank at the airport but this cannot be added to the metered fare and passengers are not charged extra.

London City Airport want to increase this charge to £3.00 and have also asked TfL to make changes so that taxi drivers can add this extra charge to the metered fare, so is is paid by the passenger

Please refer to https://www.londoncityairport.com further details as they become available.
