CLARE'S CABS IN ABERTILLERY NAMED TAXI COMPANY OF THE YEAR FOR BLAENAU GWENT
Clare Parry, owner of Clare's Cabs in Abertillery, has been named the Taxi Company of the Year for Blaenau Gwent at the Wales Prestige Awards for 2025/26.
Parry, who started her company in August 2023, was previously a driver for a larger firm before deciding to branch out on her own.
"Driving a taxi isn’t just about getting people from A to B," Parry said. "It’s about being part of the community, helping people feel safe, and being there through all kinds of moments in people’s lives."
Known to her clients as the "driver that cares," Parry has made her service available in the evenings and on weekends from 10am to 11pm. She also offers a specialist vehicle for customers with mobility issues.
After receiving the award, Parry thanked those who nominated her, the organisers, and her customers.
She also gave a "special thanks to my fiancée Kelly for her amazing support and hard work, and of course, to my lovely fellow taxi drivers and friends Nicola and Dean."
With a full quota of regular customers, Parry is already planning to expand her business to surrounding areas such as Ebbw Vale and Blackwood.
