ABC Taxis, the dominant taxi operator in Norfolk since its establishment in 1994, has officially rebranded to Veezu, marking a new chapter for the local transportation giant.
The move follows the acquisition of the Norwich-based company by the rapidly expanding Veezu Group in 2022.
Veezu, a Welsh-based technology firm, boasts the title of the UK's fastest-growing taxi and private hire business, currently managing a network of over 16,000 drivers nationwide.
Since joining the Veezu Group, ABC Taxis has experienced notable growth, and is also making significant strides in environmental sustainability. More than 75% of its 500-vehicle fleet now comprises hybrid or electric vehicles, positioning it as a regional leader in low-emission transport.
Chris Ford, regional operations director for Veezu, emphasised the continuity of service despite the name change.
"ABC Taxis has been central to Norwich and the wider Norfolk transport network for over three decades," he stated. "This has continued under Veezu and as we rebrand the business today, we will continue to deliver the highest levels of service by combining local experience with national capabilities."
Looking ahead, Ford highlighted the company's commitment to enhancing the passenger experience.
"As we continue to grow, we’re focused on delivering passenger experience through ongoing investment in service, improved air quality and enhanced technology and continued collaboration with local organisations," he added.
The rebranding signals Veezu's intention to leverage ABC Taxis' established local presence with its national resources and technological advancements.
