Taxi drivers in North Devon are being encouraged to wear face masks in a bid to protect themselves and their passengers from coronavirus.
North Devon Council says drivers should also consider installing protective screens in their cars.
Passengers are also being urged to use a face covering, carry hand sanitiser and wash their hands before and after they travel to help reduce the rate of infection.
The advice comes after the Government asked people to avoid public transport wherever possible.
Boris Johnson also asked people not to buy medical grade masks because they should be reserved for front line health and care workers.

Please avoid public transport wherever possible and when this is not possible, consider wearing a non-medical covering over your nose and mouth and carry a hand sanitiser to prevent the spread of this disease.
