Police are trying to track down a taxi driver who dropped three people off at a house in Canterbury just hours before a woman was allegedly raped by two men.
The woman was reportedly raped in the early hours of Sunday, June 3 at an address in Downs Road.
Two men, one aged 18 from Canterbury and the other aged 19 from London, were arrested on suspicion of rape.
Officers now want to speak the driver of a silver taxi, who took three people from Canterbury West Station to Downs Road at around 11.30pm on Saturday, June 2.
Investigating officer PC Ali Knott said: “There is no suggestion the taxi driver has done anything wrong but he or she may have seen or heard something during the fare that could assist us with our enquiries.
“Any information, however seemingly insignificant, could be vital and we are urging the driver to get in touch as soon as possible.”
The two suspects remain under investigation and have been released on bail until August 30, 2018.
Kent Police detectives are appealing for the driver of the taxi to come forward as they may have information that could help with the rape investigation.
Anyone with information concerning this investigation is asked to call the appeal line on 01843 222289 quoting reference ZY/30551/18.
